So, this is an AU of my AU, cause I just got done with finals and I wanted to write College!AU Cas and Dean.
Even though he was once an Angel of the Lord, (and no, Dean thinks, that’s never not going to be weird to think about), so he had almost limitless knowledge, Castiel still studies for his finals like a man dying of thirst. Dean finds it kind of adorable though, when he lets himself into their shared apartment, and finds the ex-angel asleep and stretched out on the couch, his textbook (or Skyrim guide) on the verge of falling off his chest and crashing to the ground, which, depending on which book it is, will annoy Cas later when he can’t find the page he was on.
So Dean takes the book (this time it is actually the Skyrim guide) off his chest, marks the former angel’s spot, and gently shakes him awake, cause while yes, he’s kind of adorable where he is right now, Dean knows better and if he lets Cas sleep on the couch, he’ll never hear the end of it.
“Hey, Cas. Come on man, time to move to the bed.” Castiel blinks, then smiles sleepily at Dean.
“Hi Dean.” Dean smiles back.
“Hi Cas, but seriously, bed. You bitched and moaned last time I let you sleep on the couch.” Castiel nods before slowly pulling himself into an upright position and rubbing at his eyes. Dean waits a few moments more, before holding his hand out to Cas, who takes it and lets Dean pull him up and into his arms, where he doesn’t do more than just bury his face into the other man’s neck. “Cas, come on, we can’t sleep upright.” The fallen angel only mumbles something indistinct and Dean just drops it. He can always just carry Castiel if it really comes down to it.
Dean thinks that he falls more and more in love with Castiel every day, and the day of Kate’s wedding to Richard Castle is no different.
At the reception, once the speeches have been given and the first dances have happened, Dean manages to pull Castiel out onto the dance floor. Someone had gotten the DJ to play the song that Dean and Cas had danced to at their reception and there was no way in hell Dean was going to pass up the chance to show off the man he loved. Castiel griped of course, he wasn’t terribly fond of dancing, but one smile from Dean was all it took before the ex-angel was sighing and getting up from his chair. He was just thankful that it was a slow song this time.
Cas fits into Dean’s arms like he made for them, letting his head rest on his husband’s shoulder as they sway back and forth. Dean’s at the perfect height to sing the words of the song right into Castiel’s ear, much like he did when they got married three years ago. “And all along I believed I would find you. Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years, I’ll love you for a thousand more.”
So yeah, Cas hates dancing and Dean’s not too fond of wearing a tux, but right now they’re so wrapped up in their own little world that they don’t care. They have one another and that’s all that matters.
Those had been the words Dean had been waiting too long to hear. The corner of his mouth twitched a little as he tried not to grin like an idiot. Castiel’s bright blue eyes were looking into his own past the glasses he was wearing. His angel smiling a little shyly as he took Dean’s hands in his own, squeezing them.
Then with out warning he leaned in, pressing his lips to Dean’s, grinning against them. “I guess we’re Mr. and Mr. Beckett now, huh?” he teased gently, one hand reaching up to run fingers through his loves hair, watching the green eyes fall closed.
With their foreheads pressed together he finally grinned stupidly he said, “yeah…we are…”
The room had been quiet up until that point, before Kate started clapping, standing up as she cheered her brother and his husband on. Rick Castle who was next to her joined in soon after after he got a swift jab to the ribs from her.
Moments later a resounding cheer came from the back where Sam was standing with Ryan and Esposito. Kate had insisted they stay where they could not get into any trouble.
John was not too far, Gabriel standing with him as the old man watched the son he had lost experience the best day of his life.
The room was filled with more cheers as Castiel picked Dean up bridal style, startling his lover. With Dean’s arms wrapped around his neck he tried to ask what his husband was doing until he felt the others lips press against his own.
He melted into this kiss, holding onto Castiel tightly as his eyes closed. He could not wait to get to the hotel and rip that white suite off his husband.
Today was definitely the best day of his life.
THIS IS GOOD FLUFF!!!
